We live in a grotesquely unequal society – we must rewrite the rules of the economy so that it works for the many, not the few.
How can it be right that in the sixth richest country in the world, more than 4 million children live in poverty? Our economy is not just broken. It is rigged in the interests of the few - and unless we fundamentally rewrite the rules, nothing will change. As your MP, I will keep using my voice in Parliament to demand a redistribution of wealth, ownership and power. That means taxing the rich to fund decent pay rises for Islington’s workers. That means abolishing the 2-child benefits cap. And that means ending the rip-off of privatisation and bringing energy, water, rail and mail into public ownership.
Our community is showing the power of unity in the face of the cost of living scandal. pic.twitter.com/4Puo3BlzCb
